COVID-19 | News and Information
On Monday 23rd March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa took the unprecedented step – in democratic South Africa – in announcing a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
For the first time in South Africa's 25 years of democracy, President announced stringent restrictions which will be every South African's responsibility to bare to "flatten the curve" of Covid-19 infections.
The lockdown, set to begin at 23:59 on Thursday and end on 16 April, will impact almost every sector of society, as well as ordinary people.
Jaykay’s Herbal will be closed for the 21 days and while we will still be accepting orders, deliveries for those orders will only commence on the 16th April 2020. Our whatsapp lines are still operational on 0713456339 and 0829278524 and we are still contactable via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sacrifices and swift action now will save lives later, President Ramaphosa explained in his address to the nation.
"Without decisive action, the number of people infected will rapidly increase from a few hundred to tens of thousands, and within a few weeks, to hundreds of thousands," he said.
Taking our President’s cue, swift and decisive decisions will put this country and all its people on a path to a speedy recovery and Jaykay’s Herbal will be ready for business as soon as the lockdown ends.
"While this measure will have a considerable impact on people's livelihoods, on the life of our society and on our economy, the human cost of delaying this action would be far, far greater."
The impact of this lockdown will be substantial, but we all have to help to slow the spread of COVID-19 for the good of our country and our people. The economic impact will be dire for everyone, our business included, but the wellbeing of our fellow South Africans has to take precedence.
We wish you and your family everything of the best during this trying time.
Stay safe. Stay home.
